The MiniMax is pretty good for two people and really shines when cold weather cooking. The limits are doing a multi-dish meal, like veggies and meat and maybe baked potatoes all at once because it’s a small cooking surface. the other limit is the charcoal feed, you better put in lots because you have to take the food and grill off–Hot!–to recharge the charcoal if you guess wrong. The vents allow you to regulate the heat quite well if you do put in lots of briquettes. It is a bit small for elaborate BBQ like smoking, slow roasting etc but can be done.

I have owned my Mini-Max for two years now. Maxie goes camping with me wherever I go. It is the perfect size to cook some wonderful food without camping. I have yet to use the stove in my travel trailer and with Maxie there I never will. If you have a travel trailer, 5th-wheel or Motorhome do yourself a favor and get a Mini-Max. Your camping neighbors will hate you ??

It was back in March. It was love at first sight. But, due to the price, I kept trying to explain to myself why I would not need another, much smaller Egg. I went back and forth until I finally just bit the bullet and took it home. I end up doing most cooks on this little Egg because it is convenient and it is very easy on lump consumption.
Stuck it in the trunk and drove it to the Grandparent’s for Thanksgiving last year — it cooked quite an amazing bird.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone on the fence. I mean, I can’t tell you if you will regret it or not, but I sure don’t! And I know my family doesn’t either!

I am one to do heavy research on any major purchase I make. I am totally bummed that since I live in a condo; the fire department and condo association will not let me use “Charlie” there. However, I am able to fire him up while I am out traveling and at home visiting family. My first cook, I did a low and slow with a boston butt, turned out wonderful. Steaks are heavenly and the burgers are to die for. I can’t wait to use my new found love again! Charlie just makes cooking so much more fun and creative. The possibilities are endless with the BGE! And, just in case you are wondering; I have found that the temperatures are easy to hold with little to no babysitting. Charlie is my new obsession!
